Kuzmin, who very well knew ancient literature reading Greek originals, was fascinated with Alexander the Great and his legend and in 1906 published his Alexandrian Songs (Александрийские песни). This novel, The Alexander the Great’s exploits (Подвиги Великого Александра), was based on different versions of the medieval Alexander romance.- Nemački prevod romana ruskog pesnika, romanopisca, prevodioca i kompozitora Mihaila Aleksejeviča Kuzmina (1872–1936), jednog od najznačajnijih imena ruskog Srebrnog veka, o delima Aleksandra Velikog. Istrin was a member of the Russian (latter Soviet) Academy of Sciences. He published a great of articles on various subjects of the Old Russian literature, especially on apocryphal texts.
The book contains a text of the study, which was in fact Istrin’s magisterial dissertation, and the texts of three Russian versions of the Alexander romance.- Studija o ruskoj verziji Aleksandride koju je napisao Vasilij Mihailovič Istrin (1865-1937), ruski istoričar književnosti, specijalista za staru slovensku i rusku književnost i profesor na univerzitetu.
Istrin je bio član Ruske (kasnije Sovjetska) akademije nauka. Objavio je dosta članaka na različite teme o ruskoj književnosti, posebno o apokrifnim tekstove.
