Computed tomography angiography acquired before discharge of patients (n = 93) who underwent the frozen elephant trunk procedure for type A ascending aortic dissection or ascending aortic arch aneurysm was preprocessed to yield patient-specific aortic models and centerlines. Aortic centerlines were subjected to principal component analysis to describe principal components and aortic shape modulators. Patient-specific shape scores were correlated with outcomes defined by composite aortic event, including aortic rupture, aortic root dissection or pseudoaneurysm, new type B dissection, new thoracic or thoracoabdominal pathologies, residual descending aortic dissection with residual false lumen flow, or thoracic endovascular aortic repair complications.
The first 3 principal components accounted for 36.4%, 26.4%, and 11.6% of aortic shape variance, respectively, and cumulatively for 74.5% of the total shape variation in all patients. The first principal component described variation in arch height-to-length ratio, the second principal component described angle at the isthmus, and the third principal component described variation in anterior-to-posterior arch tilt. Twenty-one aortic events (22.6%) were encountered. The degree of aortic angle at the isthmus described by the second principal component was associated with aortic events in logistic regression (hazard ratio, 0.98; 95% confidence interval, 0.97-0.99; P = .046).
The second principal component, describing angulation at the region of the aortic isthmus, was associated with adverse aortic events. Observed shape variation should be evaluated in the context of aortic biomechanical properties and flow hemodynamics.

U radu su prikazani rezultati trogodišnjih istraživanja gospodarskih svojstava dviju komercijalnih (Désirée i Colomba) i dviju tradicijskih sorata krumpira (Poli i Brinjak) u sjeverozapadnoj ...Hrvatskoj. Istraživanje je provedeno tijekom 2020., 2021. i 2022. godine na pokušalištu Agronomskoga fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu u uvjetima bez navodnjavanja. Značajno najveći prinos gomolja (33,10 t ha-1) ostvaren je u 2020. godini, u kojoj je tijekom vegetacije palo najviše oborina (583,6 mm). U trogodišnjem prosjeku, signifikantno najveći prinos gomolja ostvarile su sorte Désirée (27,37 t ha-1) i Poli (26,17 t ha-1). Najveći udio suhe tvari utvrđen je kod sorata Poli (23,37 %) i Brinjak (23,26 %), a najmanji kod sorte Colomba (17,39 %). U 2020. godini, koja je za krumpir bila vremenski povoljna, najveći udio u prinosu gomolja imala je frakcija > 55 mm, a u nepovoljnim godinama frakcija 35 – 55 mm. Unutar frakcije > 55 mm, najveći udio gomolja imala je sorta Désirée, a unutar frakcije 35 – 55 mm sorte Poli i Brinjak. U prosjeku, najveći udio sitnih gomolja (manjih od 35 mm) imala je sorta Poli, a najveći udio krupnih gomolja (većih od 55 mm) sorta Colomba. Najveći broj gomolja po biljci utvrđen je kod sorte Poli, a najveća masa gomolja po biljci kod sorte Désirée. Iako su tradicijske sorte krumpira u nekim svojstvima inferiorne u odnosu na komercijalne, nužno ih je ozdraviti od virusa i očuvati (on-farm) radi održavanja bioraznolikosti i raznolikosti u gastronomskoj ponudi.
Pšenica je po proizvodnji druga najvažnija ratarska kultura u Republici Hrvatskoj. Uvođenjem Kodeksa otkupa žitarica i uljarica, pored uroda zrna, sve veća važnost poklanja se parametrima kvalitete ...zrna pšenice, prvenstveno sadržaju proteina i hektolitarskoj masi, koji direktno utječu na cijenu pšenice prilikom otkupa. Genetski potencijal sorte kao i okolinski uvjeti izravno utječu na navedene parametre. Trogodišnjim istraživanjem provedenim na lokaciji Staro Topolje na 12 sorti ozime pšenice, uzgajanim pri tri različite razine gnojidbe dušikom, procijenjen je utjecaj godine, sorte i tretmana dušičnim gnojivom na sadržaj proteina, hektolitarsku masu i masu 1000 zrna. Prema dobivenim rezultatima utvrđen je signifikantan utjecaj godine, sorte i tretmana dušičnim gnojivom na sadržaj proteina. Najveći utjecaj na ovo svojstvo imala je godina, zatim tretman dušičnim gnojivom, a najmanji sorta. Signifikantan utjecaj godine i sorte utvrđen je i za hektolitarsku masu, dok tretman dušičnim gnojivom nije signifikantno utjecao na ovo svojstvo, uz činjenicu da je utjecaj godine bio znatno veći u odnosu na sortu. Također je utvrđeno da su sve testirane sorte jednako reagirale na tretman dušičnim gnojivom. Prosječni sadržaj proteina pri najnižoj količini primijenjenog dušičnog gnojiva iznosio je 11,08 %, pri srednjoj 11,95 %, a pri najvišoj 12,89 %.
Wheat is the second most important crop in the Republic of Croatia. With the introduction of the Code of the purchase of grains and oilseeds, in addition to grain yield, increasing importance is attached to the parameters of wheat grain quality, primarily protein content and test weight, which directly affect the wheat price at purchase. The genetic potential of the variety as well as the environmental conditions directly affect the stated parameters. Three-year research conducted at the location of Staro Topolje on 12 winter wheat varieties grown under three different levels of nitrogen fertilization, evaluated the effect of year, variety and treatment with nitrogen fertilization on protein content, hectolitre mass and thousand seed weight. For protein content significant effects of the year, variety and treatment with nitrogen fertilizer were determined. The year had the greatest effect on this trait, then treatment with nitrogen fertilizer, and the variety had the smallest effect. Significant effects of year and variety were also found for hectolitre mass, while treatment with nitrogen fertilizer did not significantly affect this trait, with the effect of year being considerably higher as compared to the effect of variety. It was also observed that all tested varieties responded equally to nitrogen fertilizer treatment. The average protein content at the lowest amount of applied nitrogen fertilizer was 11,08%, at the medium 11,95%, and at the highest 12,89%.
Na području Gornjeg Međimurja kultura jabuke ima dugu i slavnu tradiciju. U uzgoju je proširen velik broj domaćih i udomaćenih sorti. Tome su pridonijeli povoljni ekološki uvjeti i širenje sortimenta ...iz Republičkog voćno-loznog rasadnika Vukanovec. Za oplemenjivanje jabuke potrebno je imati bogatu germoplazmu i poznavati biološka i gospodarska svojstva sorti. U radu se iznose rezultati istraživanja kemijskog sastava i kvalitete plodova 40 sorti. Istraživanja su obuhvatila: suhu tvar, topivu suhu tvar, ukupne šećere, ukupne kiseline, pH vrijednost i ocjenu kvalitete po Thiault indeksu. Od sorti su obuhvaćene: Ananas reneta, Baumanova reneta, Batulemka, Bijela zimska tafetica, Bjeličnik, Blenheimska, Bobovac, Boskoop, Božićnica, Cox's orange, Crvena jesenska rebrača, Danciška rebrača, Funtača, Golden Delicious, Gravenstein, Harbertova reneta, Jonathan, Kanadska reneta, Kaselska reneta, Krivopeteljka, Landzberška reneta, Laška trdika, London pepping, Ljepocvjetka, Mašanka, Ontario, Ovčji nos, Parker pepping, Ramburka, Red Delicious, Ribston pepping, Siva francuska reneta, Siva jesenska reneta, Starking, Stožerka, Šampanjska reneta, Šarlamovski, Zeleni štetinac, Zlatna zimska parmenka, i Željeznika. U odnosu na: suhu tvar (%), topivu suhu tvar (%), ukupne šećere (%), količinu kiseline (g/l) i Thiaultov indeks podijeljene su sorte u skupine. Najveću suhu tvar (iznad 17%) imaju sorte: Blenheimska, Boskoop, Harbertova reneta, Kanadska reneta, Parker pepping, Ribston pepping, Siva francuska reneta i Siva jesenska reneta. Najveću topivu suhu tvar (iznad 15%) imaju sorte: Baumanova reneta, Harbertova reneta, Kaselska reneta, Landzberška, Bobovac, Ljepocvjetka, Božićnica, Danciška rebrača i Batulemka. Najviše šećera (od 13 - 15%) sadrže sorte: Blenheimska, Siva jesenska reneta, Siva francuska, Ribston pepping, Parker pepping, Boskoop, Kanadska reneta, Harbertova reneta, Ljepocvjetka, Zlatna zimska parmenka, Golden Delicious i Mašanka. Najviše kiseline (preko 7 g/l) sadrže sorte: Bjeličnik, Ontario, Boskoop, Crvena jesenska rebrača, Kanadska reneta, Laška trdika, Mašanka i Stožerka. Najbolju kvalitetu (Thiault indeks iznad 170) imaju sorte: Ribston pepping, Siva jesenska reneta, Parker pepping, Boskoop, Siva francuska reneta, Kanadska reneta i Crvena jesenska rebrača.
In the area Gornje Međimurje apple culture has a long and famous tradition. Growth has been extended to a large number of domestic and old fashioned varieties. This has contributed to favorable ecological conditions and the expansion of the variety from the Vukanovec republican fruit nursery. For apple breading it is necessary to have rich germplasm and to know the properties of varieties. The paper presents the results of the research of the chemical compositions of 40 varieties, including dry matter, soluble dry matter, total sugar, acidity, pH value and quality score of the Thiault index Among varieties are: Ananas Renette, Bauman's Renette, Batulemapfel, Belle Fleur, White Winter Tafetapfel, Yellow Transparent, Blenheimere, Grosse Rheinischer Bohnapfel, Boskoop, Roter Haslinger, Cox's Orange, Red Autumn Kantapfel, Danziger Kantapfel, Funtacha, Golden Delicious, Gravenstein, Harbert's Renette, Jonathan, Renette du Canada, Grosse Kaseler Renette, Rheinischer Krummstiel, Landzberger Renette, Laška Trdika, London Pepping, Steirische Maschanzker, Ontario, Schafsnase, Parker Pepping, Red Delicious, Ribston Pepping, Renette Grise Francaise, Renette Grise Automne, Geflamanter Kardinal, Rambur, Renette de Champagne, Željeznika, Reine de Reinette, Gruner Stettiner, Charlamowsky and Starking. Highest amount of sugar (13 - 15%) contain fruits of varieties: Blenheimere, Renette Grise Automne, Ribston Pepping, Parker Pepping, Boskoop, Renette du Canada, Harbert’s Renette, Belle Fleur, Reine de Reinette, Golden Delicious, and Steirische Maschanzker. Most acids (over 7 g/l) contain varieties:
Yellow Transparent, Boskoop, Red Autumn Kantapfel, Renette du Canada, Laška Trdika, Steirische Maschanzker and Geflamanter Kardinal. The varieties that have the best quality (Thiault index above 170) are: Ribston Pepping, Renette Grise d’Automne, Parker Pepping, Boskoop, Renette Grise Francaise, and Renette du Canada.
Bc Institut d.d. iz Zagreba u svoj proizvodni program uključio je novu visokorodnu sortu ozime pšenice pod imenom Bc Mandica. Sorta botanički pripada vrsti Triticum aestivum L. emend Fiori et Paol., ...ima bijeli glatki klas bez osja, zrno crvene boje te spada u varijetet Lutscens Al. Tijekom provedenih istraživanja u svrhu priznavanja prosječni urod novopriznate sorte u službenim pokusima Hrvatskog centra za poljoprivredu, hranu i selo – Zavoda za sjemenarstvo i rasadničarstvo iznosio je 8.438 kg/ha i nadmašio je sve standardne pšenice, Srpanjku, Žitarku i Divanu. Nakon uspješno provedenoga ispitivanja, 2014. godine upisana je na Sortnu listu Republike Hrvatske. Sorta Bc Mandica pripada grupi srednje ranih sorti, ostvaruje stabilan i izuzetno visok urod zrna, a po pokazateljima kvalitete zrna, brašna i tijesta, sorta Bc Mandica svrstana je u B1 grupu kvalitete.
Istraživanje je obavljeno na stablima maslina sorte Maurino starosti 7 godina. Precjepljivanje je obavljeno sa sortama Buža, Istarska bjelica i Pendolino krajem travnja 2011., stavljanjem plemki pod ...koru. U nasadu su se tijekom vegetacije obavljale sve potrebne agrotehničke mjere, od međuredne obrade tla do zaštite od bolesti i štetnika. Tijekom vegetacije smo pratili primitak cijepljenja i mjerili vegetativni porast izboja na plemkama po sortama. Također smo pratili utjecaj grana “hraniteljica”, od kojih smo neke i prstenovali, na postotak primitka cijepljenja, kao i na vegetativni porast novih izboja. Tijekom jednogodišnjeg praćenja i mjerenja, ustanovili smo da je sorta glavni čimbenik koji utječe na dužinu porasta novih izboja. Postotak primitka je bio 95%. Kod stabala s ostavljenim granama “hraniteljicama” bilo je manje izboja na primarnim granama i deblu precjepljivanih stabala
Posljednjih deset godina svjedoci smo klimatskih promjena uslijed djelovanja različitih štetnih utjecaja na okoliš. U poljoprivrednoj proizvodnji rješenja se sve više traže u ekološkoj proizvodnji ...koja se temelji na korištenju metoda koje ne ometaju prirodne zakone te ne djeluju štetno na agroekološki sustav kao ni na zdravlje ljudi. S obzirom na velike troškove sadnje novog sortimenta prilikom prelaska na ekološku proizvodnju, cilj ovog istraživanja je bio utvrditi osjetljivost standardnih sorti na glavnu bolest jabuke, mrljavost lista i krastavost ploda (Venturia inaequalis), u sustavu ekološke zaštite u usporedbi s kontrolom tj. ne tretiranim djelom pokusa. Drugi cilj je bio utvrditi učinkovitost ekološkog tretmana na otpornom ili tolerantnom sortimentu jabuke. Dvogodišnji rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da su sorte 'Elshof' i 'Elstar' pokazale najmanju osjetljivost plodova na krastavost u ekološkom tretmanu ali i u usporedbi sa svim ostalim standardnim sortama u istraživanju. Od tolerantnih sorti najvišu otpornost je pokazala sorta 'Enterprise'. Sorta 'Priam' se također pokazala kao pogodna sorta za ekološki uzgoj i zadržala je stabilnost priroda u obje istraživane godine.
During the last decade, we are witnessing climate change, occurring due to the various impacts harmful to the environment. In agricultural production, solutions are sought in organic production. The goal of organic production is to achieve high productivity and quality of the products by relying on the use of methods that do not interfere with natural equilibrium and do not have negative affect on agro-ecological system as well as human health. Considering the high cost of new planting when switching to organic production, the aim of this study was to determine the susceptibility of standard varieties to apple scab (Venturia inaequalis), the most important disease of apple, in organic pest control programme compared with control. Another goal was to determine the effectiveness of organic pest control programme on tolerant apple varieties compared to control. This research was conducted at the Agricultural Institute Osijek, Department for Fruit Growing and it lasted for two years (2011 - 2012). A total of 29 apple varieties were included in the study. Two-year research results showed that ‘Elshof’ and ‘Elstar’ varieties were the most resistant to the disease in organic treatment compared to control, but also compared to all the other standard varieties in the study. Among tolerant varieties, the best result was recorded for ‘Enterprise’ variety, while ‘Priam’ variety showed a good result within the organic pest control programme and maintained the stability of the yield in both investigated years.
Istraživanje kemijskog sastava i kvalitete plodova sedam sorti jabuka na šest M podloga obavljena su tijekom dvije godine u pokusnom voćnjaku na Fakultetskom pokusnom i nastavnom dobru Jazbina kraj ...Zagreba. Istraživanja su provođena na sortama: Boskoop, Kanada, Jonathan, London pepping, Ljepocvjetka, Mašanka i Zlatna zimska parmenka cijepljenih na podlogama: M 1, M 2, M 4, M 5, M 9 i M 11. Pokusni voćnjak podignut je po metodi randomiziranog bloka u četiri repeticije. U svakoj repeticiji bilo je zastupljeno po pet stabala u kombinaciji sorta podloga, odnosno 20 stabala svake sorte na svakoj podlozi. Stabla s kojih su uzimani uzorci plodova za analizu uzgojena su u obliku popravljene vaze, a bila su dobro razvijena i u punoj rodnosti. Istraživanja su obuhvatila: topivu suhu tvar, ukupne šećere, titracijsku kiselost, jabučnu kiselinu i pH vrijednost. Kvaliteta plodova određena je analizom sklada između količine ukupnih šećera (g/l) i količine jabučne kiseline (g/l) po metodi Thiault. Pod utjecajem podloge nisu utvrđene signifikantne razlike u količini ukupnih šećera i kiselina u plodovima istraživanih sorti. Manje razlike u količini ukupnih šećera i kiselina utvrđene su pod utjecajem klimatskih prilika godine, ali ne i pod utjecajem podloge u istoj godini. Po količini ukupnih šećera istraživane sorte možemo svrstati u tri skupine. Najviše, odnosno podjednako, ukupnih šećera sadrže plodovi Boskopa i Kanade (od 14,5 do 15,0 %), zatim plodovi Zlatne zimske parmenke (od 13,0 do 13,9), a podjednako plodovi Ljepocvjetke, Jonathana, London peppinga i Mašanke (od 11,5 do 12,5). Između naznačene tri skupine sorata utvrđena je signifikantna razlika na razini LSD P=5%. Najviše kiseline sadrže plodovi Boskopa i Kanade (od 6,5 do 7,5 g/l), zatim Zlatne zimske parmenke (od 5,5 do 6,0 g/l), podjednako Jonathana i Ljepocvjetke, (4,5 do 5,0 g/l), a najmanje, odnosno podjednako Mašanke i London pepping (3,5 do 4,5 g/l). Između tri skupine sorti utvrđena je signifikantna razlika na razini LSD P=5%. Istim redoslijedom razvrstani su plodovi po kvaliteti na osnovi odnosa šećera (g/l) i jabučne kiseline (g/l).
Priznavanje sorti poljoprivrednog bilja u Republici Hrvatskoj provodi se u Hrvatskoj Agenciji za poljoprivredu i hranu - Centru za sjemenarstvo i rasadničarstvo u skladu sa Zakonom o sjemenu, sadnom ...materijalu i priznavanju sorti poljoprivrednog bilja (NN 140/05, 35/08, 25/09, 124/10, 55/11 i 14/14), Pravilnikom o upisu sorti u Sortnu listu (NN 45/08, 84/08, 77/13, 136/15, 57/17, 70/18 i 75/19), Pravilnikom o priznavanju sorti poljoprivrednog bilja (NN 99/08, 100/09, 109/10, 77/13 i 57/18) i Pravilnikom o postupku utvrđivanja različitosti, ujednačenosti i postojanosti novih biljnih sorti u svrhu dodjeljivanja oplemenjivačkog prava i priznavanja sorti (NN 61/11). Sortna lista Republike Hrvatske je službeni popis sorti vrsta bilja koje su priznate u Republici Hrvatskoj. Postupkom priznavanja sorte stječe se pravo upisa sorte u Sortnu listu Republike Hrvatske, Zajedničku sortnu listu Zajednice i OECD listu. Trenutno je na Sortnoj listi Republike Hrvatske upisano 843 sorti poljoprivrednog bilja i povrća. Od osnivanja Centra za sjemenarstvo i rasadničarstvo (1998.) do danas je zaprimljeno 4.181 zahtjev za priznavanje za 103 biljne vrste. Od tog su broja priznate 2.409 sorti, 1.251 je povučeno iz ispitivanja, a 285 sorti nisu priznate. Za 8 sorti je odbačen zahtjev za priznavanje i 228 sorti se nalazi u postupku ispitivanja.
Registration of varieties of agricultural plants is conducted in the Croatian Agency for Agriculture and Food - Center for Seed and Seedlings in accordance with the The Act on Seeds, Planting Material and Registration of Varieties of Agricultural Plants (OG 140/05, 35/08, 25/09, 124/10, 55/11 and 14/14), The Ordinance on the Inclusion of Varieties in the National List of Varieties of Agricultural Plants (OG 45/08, 84/08, 77/13, 136/15, 57/17, 70/18 and 75/19), The Ordinance on the Registration of Varieties of Agricultural Plants (OG 99/08, 100/09, 109/10, 77/13 and 57/18) and The Regulations on the procedure and the conduct of tests for distinctness, uniformity and stability (DUS) of new varieties of plants for the purpose of granting the Breeders’ Right (OG 61 / 11). The variety list of the Republic of Croatia is an official list of varieties of certain plant species registered in the Republic of Croatia. To become eligible for inclusion in the List of Varieties of the Republic of Croatia, The Common Catalogue of Varietie sand OECD list, a variety must be registered. Currently, 843 varieties of agricultural plants and vegetables are entered on The variety list of the Republic of Croatia. Since the establishment of the Center for Seedand Seedlings (1998), 4.181 applications for registration have been submitted for 103 plant species. Of that number, 2.409 varieties were registered, 1.251 were with drawn from testing and 285 varieties were not recognized. For 8 varieties, the Application for registration was rejected and 228 varieties are in the process of testing.
