After being withdrawn from Bogensperk Castle, where it had been displayed as a permanent collection, it has been turned into a touring exhibition and is shown in various locations throughout ...Slovenia. Spatial data is essential for the functioning of society, and 2024 brings some significant innovations in this field. A decade has passed since the first laser scanning of Slovenia, which was a pioneering effort, especially regarding the free availability of data, and enabled many researchers worldwide to learn from our data.

With the ubiquity of advanced web technologies and location-sensing hand held devices, citizens regardless of their knowledge or expertise, are able to produce spatial information. This phenomenon is ...known as volunteered geographic information (VGI). During the past decade VGI has been used as a data source supporting a wide range of services, such as environmental monitoring, events reporting, human movement analysis, disaster management, etc. However, these volunteer-contributed data also come with varying quality. Reasons for this are: data is produced by heterogeneous contributors, using various technologies and tools, having different level of details and precision, serving heterogeneous purposes, and a lack of gatekeepers. Crowd-sourcing, social, and geographic approaches have been proposed and later followed to develop appropriate methods to assess the quality measures and indicators of VGI. In this article, we review various quality measures and indicators for selected types of VGI and existing quality assessment methods. As an outcome, the article presents a classification of VGI with current methods utilized to assess the quality of selected types of VGI. Through these findings, we introduce data mining as an additional approach for quality handling in VGI.

In this rejoinder, we set out some of the main points that we took from the discussions of our paper “Spatial+: A novel approach to spatial confounding.” The comments provided by the discussants ...include excellent questions and suggestions for extensions and improvements to spatial+. The discussions also highlight the growing interest in understanding spatial confounding, underpinned by the many recent contributions to the literature on this topic.

A ground-up approach to explaining dynamicspatial modelling for an interdisciplinary audience. Across broad areas of the environmental and social sciences, simulation models are an important way to ...study systems inaccessible to scientific experimental and observational methods, and also an essential complement to those more conventional approaches. The contemporary research literature is teeming with abstract simulation models whose presentation is mathematically demanding and requires a high level of knowledge of quantitative and computational methods and approaches. Furthermore, simulation models designed to represent specific systems and phenomena are often complicated, and, as a result, difficult to reconstruct from their descriptions in the literature. This book aims to provide a practical and accessible account of dynamic spatial modelling, while also equipping readers with a sound conceptual foundation in the subject, and a useful introduction to the wide-ranging literature. Spatial Simulation: Exploring Pattern and Process is organised around the idea that a small number of spatial processes underlie the wide variety of dynamic spatial models. Its central focus on three 'building-blocks' of dynamic spatial models – forces of attraction and segregation, individual mobile entities, and processes of spread – guides the reader to an understanding of the basis of many of the complicated models found in the research literature. The three building block models are presented in their simplest form and are progressively elaborated and related to real world process that can be represented using them. Introductory chapters cover essential background topics, particularly the relationships between pattern, process and spatiotemporal scale. Additional chapters consider how time and space can be represented in more complicated models, and methods for the analysis and evaluation of models. Finally, the three building block models are woven together in a more elaborate example to show how a complicated model can be assembled from relatively simple components. To aid understanding, more than 50 specific models described in the book are available online at patternandprocess.org for exploration in the freely available Netlogo platform. This book encourages readers to develop intuition for the abstract types of model that are likely to be appropriate for application in any specific context. Spatial Simulation: Exploring Pattern and Process will be of interest to undergraduate and graduate students taking courses in environmental, social, ecological and geographical disciplines. Researchers and professionals who require a non-specialist introduction will also find this book an invaluable guide to dynamic spatial simulation.

Abstract Building a three-dimensional digital model of a substation is a key technology for achieving intelligent operation and maintenance of substations. However, the widely used GIM technology ...currently has obvious shortcomings in spatial attribute correlation, and cannot meet the application requirements. This paper proposes a three-dimensional digital model modeling method for substation equipments, which improves the general standardization transplantation and spatial attribute association ability based on GIM. This method integrates the GIM data standard, establishes a mapping relationship between GIM model data and JSON instances, fully preserves the attribute information of the model, and can easily obtain a three-dimensional slice model of substation equipments. The feasibility of the proposed method was verified through experiments.
Nowadays, the up-to-date and consistent digital spatial information is highly expected by the users. The kind of mapping method development which offers the potential to meet the high expectations is ...automatic map generalization. In Indonesia map generalization was only implemented in medium and small scale, and has never been done from large scale. This research aims as a beginning in map generalization from large scale by looking at the condition of existing data at all three levels of scale. Therefore, the data selected must be available on large, medium, and small scale. In this study, Bogor is chosen because it had been mapped on a scale of 1:5,000; 1:25,000; and 1:250,000. These operations used are a) selection, b) classification, c) amalgamation, d) aggregation, and e) simplification. The feature studied in this research is building. From this research, we can determine generalization pattern from scale of 1:5,000 to scale of 1:25,000 and 1:250,000 for building feature, so it can be used as prototype design in building generalization from large scale to medium and small scale.
