This study aimed to investigate: (1) the level of psychological skills among students enrolled in swimming courses at the Physical Education faculties in the Jordanian Universities. (2) the relation ...between their psychological skills and academic achievement. (3) the differences in these psychological skills according to gender. The descriptive approach was used to conduct this study. The study sample consisted of (260) male and female students enrolled in intermediate and advanced level swimming courses at the School of Sport Sciences/ University of Jordan. Students’ final academic achievement records in addition to the “Life skills through swimming context” scale was used to collect required data. The results of the statistical analysis revealed an average level of psychological skills, significant differences in psychological skills level in favor of female students, A level students, and JU students, and a positive significant relation between psychological skills and academic achievement. In conclusion, it is important to design comprehensive psychological skills-based study plans for swimming courses and in different sports fields. Also, to conduct specified training and guidance courses in this domain to improve psychological skills, teaching competencies, and academic achievement.
This study aimed to identify the obstacles that faced teaching swimming courses at Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Science at Hashemite University during Corona pandemic from the perspective ...of the students themselves The researchers used the descriptive approach for its suitability to the nature of the study and its objectives, where the questionnaire was used as a tool to obtain the study data after the researchers conducted validity and reliability transactions to ensure their safety and suitability for the current study،The results of the study indicated that the most important obstacles that faced teaching swimming courses at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the Hashemite University during the Corona pandemic were arranged as following: Obstacles related to the electronic field, obstacles related to the academic field, obstacles related to the psychological field, Obstacles related to the economic field, and finally obstacles related to the social field؛The researchers recommend generalizing the results of this study to benefit from them in knowing the nature of the obstacles that students of practical courses faced, especially swimming during Corona pandemic
Swimming is a sport with a very significant exercise effect, so swimming courses in colleges and universities can promote the overall development of students’ physical fitness. In this paper, ...students’ swimming data are collected using intelligent sensors, and the collected data are noise-reduced and normalized by a low-pass filter. After the completion of data preprocessing, the swimming posture data features are extracted. The features are dimensionality reduced by the PCA method, combined with the BP neural network for training and accurate swimming posture recognition, and on this basis, a diversified teaching system for swimming courses in smart colleges and universities is constructed. After the students’ swimming data set was collected, the recognition effect of each swimming stroke was analyzed, and a comparison experiment was set up to investigate the practical effect and strategy of this teaching mode. The results show that the average accuracy of recognizing each stroke in this study can reach more than 0.988, and in the teaching test, the average difference between the performance of the experimental group and the control group is 7.6, and the P-value of the technical evaluation performance of the two groups of students in this project is 0.002<0.05, which significantly improves the swimming performance. This study can be combined with artificial intelligence technology to diversify the teaching of swimming courses in colleges and universities.
The physical performance and level of motor skills of children in the Czech Republic have been declining for a long time. Children spend their free time passively, e.g. sitting in front of the TV or ...playing computer games, and more of them suffer from overweight and obesity. However, the increasing number of swimming pools and swimming schools in Brno indicates the growing popularity of swimming and water sports. The aim of this study was to evaluate the swimming skills of elementary school pupils during the years 1995-2015. We found the swimming skills records for this 20-year period of 14.793 year two pupils who had never participated in a swimming course during their school attendance. The ratio of swimmers and non-swimmers, as well as the influence on the given ratio made by variations in the national curriculum caused by changes to the law on schools were assessed. It was shown that there has been an increase in the proportion of swimmers and a decrease in the proportion of pupils afraid of water. The number of pupils who were able to float and were not afraid of water was about 20 % in all 20 years (range 14.2-26.9 %). We can track a positive trend in swimming skills even though there has been no obligatory swimming course at primary schools in the Czech Republic since 2005. Positive trend in swimming skills shows that even in a period of increasing physical inactivity of children, a positive trend can be traced in some movement skills if the appropriate conditions are provided.

The aim of our study was to examine the effect of swimming activities on the development of swimming skills in student with physical disability and to determine whether these activities also affect ...the students general motor development. The sample consisted of one student with physical disability in the third grade of primary school. The student was involved in a ten-hour swimming course, based on the Halliwick concept of swimming for children with special needs. Data about the student's progress were obtained through structured observations at the beginning and at the end of the course, where the SWIM internationally standardized test was used. Results show that the student developed balance, coordination, power, precision, flexibility and was capable of independent 25-meter backstroke swimming at the end of the course. Results prove that swimming is a highly suitable activity for students with physical disability. Keywords: motor development, physical fitness, swimming course, cerebral palsy, Halliwick concept
This study aimed to analyze the most common sports-related injuries among students in the swimming course at the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Jordan. Moreover, it identified the ...most common areas of injuries and their causes. The study sample consisted of 60 randomly chosen female students from the Faculty of Physical Education Jordan in the year 2018/2019. The descriptive approach was used, and the sports injury checklist was distributed. The results showed that the body parts most likely to be injured were the leg (20%), the shoulders' joint (15%), and the most frequent types of injuries were muscle cramps (22%), injuries (17%), sprains, and bruises (13%). The most common causes of sports injuries were related to lack of a good warm-up (22%), lack of the use of sports recovery means (15%), and poor motor technique (13%). The study recommended the necessity of following the rules of good warm-up based on a scientific basis, learning the correct techniques for skills before performing them to prevent injuries, and paying attention to the use of sports recovery after swimming.
Computer technology, network technology and multimedia technology are developing rapidly and being used more and more widely, which brings hope for the modernization of educational technology and ...provides power for the reform of physical education. The use of multimedia courseware has solved many problems that conventional teaching can't solve or can't solve well, changed the monotonous, dull and dull atmosphere in classroom teaching in the past, and easily stimulated students' enthusiasm and interest in learning, so as to improve the comprehensive quality of college students. By means of teaching experiments, this paper analyzes the application effect of multimedia in college sports swimming class, and studies the application value of multimedia in college sports swimming class, hoping to have a certain positive impact and reference significance on improving the teaching quality of college sports swimming class.
