One of the most promising solutions for optimizing logistics processes is the creation of automated supply management systems based on distributed registry technology, in particular a smart contract. ...However, in addition to the well-known economic advantages of such a technology, the expediency of its practical application will largely be determined by the stability of the functioning of these control systems in modern conditions of the threat of destabilizing influences. Currently, the solution to the security issues of smart contracts as programs are reduced to checking the source code of applications. Obviously, this is clearly not enough to ensure the reliability of logistics management, the stability of which can be determined on the basis of known methods for assessing the complex security of the corresponding IT system. This study adapts existing methods for auditing and assessing information security risks for an IT system using a smart contract, and the subject is to substantiate the applicability of such an approach to assessing the security of logistics processes, considering the features of smart contracts. The paper considers the features of the use of smart contracts in logistics processes, outlines appropriate approaches to audit and risk assessment of the functioning of the logistics management system based on smart contracts. Recommendations have been developed for the practical implementation of specific methods for assessing the security of an IT system using a smart contract, which is set by the authors as the goal of further work. The results of the study can be useful to specialists in the field of optimization of logistics processes and information security when developing new logistics schemes based on smart contracts.
It is determined that the existence of a developed transport and logistics infrastructure is one of the defining dominants of the effective functioning of the transport and logistics system at the ...regional, national and international level, provides effective supply, marketing, production and social communications between the subjects of economic activity.
It is proved that the main directions of state policy implementation in the field of transport and logistics are: directions of innovative development of transport and logistics technologies on energy-saving and environmentally safe principles; construction of efficient economic systems in accordance with the principles of logistics and marketing; development of strategic planning; improvement of regulatory policy.
Institutional, organizational and economic mechanisms for ensuring the effective development of national transport and logistics systems have been researched and systematized, among which the following have been identified as priorities: the development of public-private partnerships and decentralization reform, which will solve the problems of financing infrastructure development, the formation of multi-branch integration structures (transport-logistics clusters, transport hubs and logistics-outsourcing platforms), which will improve the quality of transport and logistics services, intensification of the integration processes of the transport and logistics system in the international transport of the network, which will increase the competitiveness of the national economy, increase in productivity of transit potential and attraction of foreign investments in the development of the industry.
This research aims to investigate the current status and future direction of the use of information systems for logistics and supply chain management (LSCM) in South East Europe. The objectives are ...threefold: (1) to identify major challenges and developments on the use of information systems for LSCM by enterprises, (2) to examine the actual level of satisfaction of current policy on LSCM, and (3) to reveal the actual need of enterprises in South East Europe on effective use of information systems for LSCM. Mixed methodology of literature review and questionnaire survey is adopted in this research. Data collected from 79 enterprises are analysed using descriptive analysis in SPSS. The findings suggest that enterprises in Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Romania, and Serbia and Montenegro, face similar challenges but all are in different stages of developments of LSCM. Their use of information systems explains their heavy focus on supply chain partnership and weakness in demand chain partnership. Major findings suggest that companies and governments alike in that region do not seem to be ready for playing a significant and demanding role in global supply chains. Current deficiencies, including limited abilities in building valuable forward relations, weak strategic planning and organisation, and infrastructural problems, are major obstacles for fast development in LSCM. At the same time though, traces of changing mentalities do exist, setting the ground for improved performance and ultimately for a better position in global business.

Information management is a common paradigm in modern decision-making. A wide range of decision-making techniques have been proposed in the literature to model complex business and engineering ...processes. In this Special Issue, 16 selected and peer-reviewed original research articles contribute to business information management in various current real-world problems by proposing crisp or uncertain multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) models and techniques, mostly including multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) approaches, in addition to a single paper proposing an interactive multi-objective decision-making (MODM) approach. Particular attention is devoted to information aggregation operators—65% of papers dealt with this item. The topics of this Special Issue gained attention in Europe and Asia. A total of 48 authors from seven countries contributed to this Issue. The papers are mainly concentrated in three application areas: supplier selection and rational order allocation, the evaluation and selection of goods or facilities, and personnel selection/partner selection. A number of new approaches are proposed that are expected to attract great interest from the research community.
Lack of involvement in interventions to carry out observations and analysis that causes the conditions and behavior of employees at one of the logistics companies at the Jakarta branch. The research ...aims to reduce potential unsafe of conditions unsafe actions in the workplace environment. This process involves employees recognizing potential problems in the workplace within the procedures of observation, feedback, and employee behavior interventions. The methodology used in this study is a descriptive method to describe present or ongoing issues. This method allows for assessing a condition and program implementation to make further improvements in the future. There are still several obstacles in implementing the K3 Program (Safety, Health, and Environment), where the program is still being performed manually. BBS STAR program does not cover unsafe conditions and unsafe actions, so reporting workers to management regarding conditions at work still not optimal yet. Employees also have some difficulty reporting unsafe conditions and unsafe actions in the workplace. SEWS program can be a preventive step in the occurrence of potential danger. The quality of employees could increase with the habit of analyzing dangerous aspects of the workplace environment. Employees' involvement in the SEWS contribution program can also help establish moral consistency. Keywords: K3, Unsafe conditions and unsafe actions, SEWS Program
This article examines the analysis of the logistics component of the economic security system of enterprises. The generalized classification of threats on the basis of structuring of spheres and ...types of logistic activity is carried out. It is established that the logistics system is an adaptive, purposeful and structurally organized system with high organizational and integration and information and communication potential aimed at managing the logistics flows of the logistics entity to ensure the development of its economic security system.
Both the level of organisation of the very logistics processes and logistics system within which a given logistic process is implemented define the quality of economic processes logistics service. ...Transport processes are sub-processes of almost every logistics process, and transport system is a sub-system of logistics system. Thus, one of the key requirements of logistics services is their integration and interoperability. The interoperability of channels and, more broadly, logistics systems is based on providing such unified operational and technical parameters that enable free flow of resources without any restrictions and stoppages in different locations, especially in contact points of logistics systems of particular countries. The aim of this paper is to analyse and present the programme of EU activities in the scope of development and modernisation of European railway logistics channels. This paper defines the core and comprehensive network of logistics channels in Europe, discusses priorities for their development and defines required activities, especially with regard to railway logistics channels comprising core and comprehensive network of logistics channels in Europe. The added value of this paper is the list of strategic activities of the EU in terms of transport as seen through methodology and the language of logistics.
The study aimed to describe the utilization of waste frying oils, originated mainly from households, in home-made soap production and to emphasize the advantages of soap biodegradation in comparison ...to biological treatment of oils. The physicochemical analyses of soaps were used to check the differences between the samples made of fresh and fried oils. Significant (p < 0.05) difference between the soaps made of fresh/fried olive oil pair was obtained, while the rapeseed sample pair did not differ significantly (p < 0.05). Malondialdehyde (MDA) exhibited notable differences with an increase from 1.94 μg/g to 2.33 μg/g for olive oil fresh/fried pair and from 3.43 μg/g to 4.10 μg/g for rapeseed–palm oil fresh/fried pair. The studies addressing the soap biodegradation process revealed that soaps are degrading up to four times faster than oils in waste processing plants. Literature data showed the syntrophic ways of soap degradation and degradation solely done by sulfate-reducing bacteria. Obtained results, same as literature data, indicated that soaps produced from fried plant oils represent acceptable products from the economic and environmental point of view. Soap production can be considered one of the possible ways toward reduction of waste oil disposal.
