A library is often displayed in spaces originally not designed to be an academic support center. Thus, is common for the library to fail to adequate lighting display conditions, ergonomic space for ...books, and visitors’ mobility comfort. As the potential of education infrastructure visitors demand higher standards for the beauty landscape and more exploring sources of natural lighting. In order to objectively assess if a library meets the required standards it is necessary to establish a proper evaluation method. This study proposes a novel procedure relying on visitor suggestion data and dynamic mobility metrics. The procedure, which considers both education and visitors’ needs, can provide librarians with scientific, repeatable data. The validity of the procedure is simulated through its application in a case study: the library is in Rantau, tapin regency, south Kalimantan of Indonesia. The simulation results show that the proposed design can be useful in buildings to effectively control air circulation and improve visual comfort mobility. These simulation data can help librarians, contractors, and building management screen out potential improving until the most adequate.
It has been reported that stingless bees of the genus Trigona are regular visitors to the Jatropha curcas bioenergetic plant, physic nut. These bees use their mandibular system to extract cellulose ...and resin from the stem, materials necessary for the construction of nests. The objective of this work was to evaluate the prevalence of begomovirus (BV) in populations of Trigonas visitors of J. curcas in Soconusco, Chiapas, Mexico. Eleven individuals of the genus Trigona were collected in five populations, individuals were grouped as T. fuscipennisand T. fulviventris, using taxonomic clues. Using the PA/PB primers, 79% and 69% of T. fuscipennis and T. fulviventris, respectively, had BVs. The results suggest that bees of the genus Trigona could be transmitters of BV, a potential risk in the crop J. curcas.

Nancy Shoemaker contends that what she calls extraterritorial Americans constituted the vanguard of a vast, early US global expansion. Using as her site of historical investigation nineteenth-century Fiji, the "cannibal isles" of American popular culture, she uncovers stories of Americans looking for opportunities to rise in social status and enhance their sense of self. Prior to British colonization in 1874, extraterritorial Americans had, she argues, as much impact on Fiji as did the British. While the American economy invested in the extraction of sandalwood and sea slugs as resources to sell in China, individuals who went to Fiji had more complicated, personal objectives.
Pursuing Respect in the Cannibal Isles considers these motivations through the lives of the three Americans who left the deepest imprint on Fiji: a runaway whaleman who settled in the islands, a sea captain's wife, and a merchant. Shoemaker's book shows how ordinary Americans living or working overseas found unusual venues where they could show themselves worthy of others' respect-others' approval, admiration, or deference.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explain the determinants of the degree of visit satisfaction to the Guanajuato Mummies Museum. The study contributes to the literature related to perceptions ...and attitudes of museum visitors, by identifying what factors explain the satisfaction with the visit; as to the best of our knowledge, no similar investigation has been carried out yet. Methods: A survey was used to collect the data (n=392) from national and foreign visitors of the said museum, containing sociodemographic variables, opinions and feelings of the visitors and information about the visit. Data analysis was conducted with an ordered Logit model. Results: Findings indicate that opinions about the activity of the museum, the guided tour and the rest area are the most significant determinants of visitors' satisfaction, while the library and facilities for the disabled are moderately important. Feelings of enjoyment, tiredness or boredom marginally affect visitors' satisfaction. Implications: Knowledge of the satisfaction factors can guide marketing strategies and direct the training of personnel as recommended by ICOM (International Council of Museums) to continue contributing to the improvement of services offered, increasing the levels of satisfaction, and leading to repeat visits.
The global population is ageing with implications for the provision of tourism experiences to meet changing needs. The shift in demographics has encouraged a focus on the older visitor with tourism ...organisations recognising the value of engaging with this market, though little research exists to inform the development of experiences. Many in the ‘Traditionalist’ category, born pre-WW2, have a lifetime habit of visiting attractions but find it increasingly difficult to continue this engagement. Barriers include available time due to multiple social and caring responsibilities and concerns regarding physical and intellectual accessibility, while attraction managers lack data on this market's needs, leading to misconceptions and limited provision. Key enablers are inclusive design, clear communication of access, and the provision of specifically designed experiences. Key features of these to be regular events to develop visitor familiarisation, and to include interactive activities relating to attraction assets and a strong socialisation aspect.

From January 2018 to June 2018, World Health Organization (WHO) European Region countries reported >41 000 measles cases, including 37 deaths, a record high since the 1990s. Low vaccination coverage ...in previous years is the biggest contributing factor to the increase in cases. The Ukraine reported the majority of cases, but France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, the Russian Federation, and Serbia also reported high case counts. Europe is the most common travel destination worldwide and is widely perceived as being without substantial infectious disease risks. For this reason, travelers may not consider the relevance of a pretravel health consultation, including vaccination, in their predeparture plans. Measles is highly contagious, and the record number of measles cases in the WHO European Region not only puts unvaccinated and inadequately vaccinated travelers at risk but also increases the risk for nontraveling US residents who come into close contact with returned travelers who are ill. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourage US travelers to be aware of measles virus transmission in Europe and receive all recommended vaccinations, including for measles, before traveling abroad. Health care providers must maintain a high degree of suspicion for measles among travelers returning from Europe or people with close contact with international travelers who present with a febrile rash illness. The current WHO European Region outbreak should serve to remind health care providers to stay current with the epidemiology of highly transmissible diseases, such as measles, through media, WHO, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports and encourage measles vaccination for international travelers.
The Coronavirus along with other sectors of the economy, has caused great damage to the tourism sector and related industries. The number of international tourists decreased by 0.7% in February 2020 ...compared to 2019. The decrease in the number of visitors has affected the restaurant business, airlines, shopping and catering establishments. In 2020 with the period before the pandemic, the number of employees in hotels throughout Georgia decreased by 17 000 people. According to the statistical data the increase was recorded in the 2nd quarter of 2022. The same trends were observed in the research region in particular in Imereti in 2019. In the mentioned sector by 2020, 2536 people were employed and their number decreased to 1725. By 2021 a slight increase was recorded in amount to 1745 people. In 2021, the highest rate of domestic visitors was recorded, both in the country as a whole and in the regions that exceeded the pre-pandemic period. An increase of 34 000 was recorded in Imereti alone, and the increases of 314 000 in the country as a whole. It were caused by broader crossing restrictions. Although, the income from international tourism decreased significantly during the research period, the opposite result was observed in the case of local visitors, the expense within the country increased significantly and reached 226 million GEL, higher than the same period before the pandemic with is 73,5 million GEL.
In post-pandemic conditions, tourism and its separate sector are being revitalized, both in Georgia and in the world as a whole. According to the National Tourism Agency the number of visitors to Georgia in 2022 is promising. In March 2022 211 484 visitors arrived, which is 210,6% higher than the previous years and comprises 48,5% of March of 2019.
Difficulties arose in the process of renewal of work in the tourism sector of Georgia. Domestic tourism resumed on schedule, but resumption of international travel was delayed. From June 8, 2021, hotels were allowed to resume operations; Intercity transport was restored. The railway resumed operations on June 15. The final phase of the opening of domestic tourism was marked by the resumption of domestic flights from July 24. On July 8, Georgia opened its borders to 5 European countries (Germany, France, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia). The mutual unconditional opening of the borders with the mentioned countries was caused by the fact that Georgia was included in the list of 15 safe countries for travel published by the European Union on June 30. To date, the flow of passengers in all three international airports of Georgia has almost equaled the period before the pandemic, in particular, according to the data of the 8th month of 2022, Kutaisi airport recorded a 95% recovery of the same period of 2019, Batumi airport - 94%, and Tbilisi airport - 74%.
In 2022, the rapid recovery of the tourism sector began everywhere, including Georgia. An accelerated pace of tourism recovery has been observed in our country since May 2022. In the first half of 2019, compared to 2019, a 56.8% increase in tourist visits was recorded, and in June-August, a 78.7% increase. Tourism revenues recovered faster, in particular, in the first half of 2022, 78.3% growth, and 123.6% growth was recorded in July-August, which is explained by the influx of migrants and high inflation.
It was observed, which is explained by the influx of migrants and high inflation. At the same time, hotel revenues recovered faster in the regions than in the capital, one of the reasons being the increase in domestic tourism. The pandemic reduced the interest of investors, which slowed down the construction process of medium and large hotels.
As a result of the research conducted by JSC Bank of Georgia group "Galt & Taggart", a forecast is made that by the end of 2022, tourism will be fully restored to the pre-pandemic level, and by 2023, a 10% increase will be recorded. In addition, the tourism sector of Georgia should focus on the development of such high-income destinations as - wine, winter. Resort and MICE tourism development (Tourism Review, 2022).
Hopefully, the above-mentioned trends will increase the flow of visitors and their spending, not only in the country as a whole, but also in individual regions, including Imereti. Together, everything will contribute to overcoming the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
Objective: Hospital visitors pose a risk for transmitting pathogens that can cause health care-associated infections. The present study aimed to test an evidence-based intervention to improve ...visitors' hand hygiene behavior through persuasive messages. Method: For the 14-week-long field experiment, 7 signs were designed according to the principles of persuasion proposed by Cialdini: reciprocity, consistency, social-proof, unity, liking, authority, and scarcity. Each sign was displayed on a screen for 1 week directly above the hand-rub dispenser in a hospital lobby. After each 1-week posting, the screen was blank for 1 week. Results: An electronic monitoring system counted 246,098 people entering and leaving the hospital's lobby and 17,308 dispenser usages. The signs based on the authority and the social-proof principles significantly increased the hand-rub dispenser usage rate in comparison to the average baseline usage rate. Conclusions: These results indicate that simple and cost-efficient interventions can initiate expedient behavior change in hospitals. However, the findings also highlight the importance of careful planning and rigorous pretesting of material for an intervention to be effective. Theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed.
