The article presents the most prominent physicians from the Gorizia region that created its medical service at the time of its existence. We are aware that it is impossible to prepare a complete and ...final survey; the article therefore includes all medical names from the Gorizia region, accessible in sources and literature, that had given and important impact on the developmentof the region and added to its credit. In order to make the articleas clear as possible the physicians have been described concisely and briefly and only the most important work of each individual one is emphasised.The article therefore serves as a basic survey of the title theme.
