Sinergijski učinki termične modifikacije in mineralizacije na zaščito lesa pred biološko razgradnjo in ognjem [Elektronski vir] : doktorska disertacija = Synergistic effects of thermal modification and mineralization on wood protection against biological degradation and fire : doctoral dissertationRepič, RožleV raziskavi je predstavljen kombiniran pristop in sinergijski učinki termične modifikacije (TM) in mineralizacije na biološko odpornost, odpornost proti gorenju ter druge relevantne lastnosti lesa. ... Uporabili smo les bukve (Fagus sylvatica) in smreke (Picea abies), ki smo ga: 1) termično modificirali, 2) mineralizirali s pripravkom na osnovi kalcija, in 3) tretirali z obema postopkoma. Mineralizacija lesa je okolju prijazen postopek, s katerim smo dosegli, da se je v les med impregnacijo vgradilo do 18,6 mas. % karbonatov. Eksperimentalno smo dokazali, da je mineralizacija TM lesa mogoča in smiselna, ter da je izpiranje karbonatov iz lesa zanemarljivo. TM je izboljšala odpornost proti glivam razkrojevalkam, medtem ko učinek mineralizacije na delovanje gliv ni tako izrazit. Kolonizacija mikroorganizmov na površini, na terenskih testih izpostavljenega lesa je na mineraliziranem lesu občutno manjša, kot na termično modificiranem ali netretiranem lesu. Po termični modifikaciji in/ali mineralizaciji se mehanske lastnosti lesa poslabšajo, poleg tega mineralizacija negativno vpliva na dimenzijsko stabilnost, a je ta učinek v kombinaciji s TM veliko manjši. Mineralizacija izboljša požarne lastnosti lesa, ki jih sicer termična modifikacija poslabša.
