  • L' événement et l'héritage biblique : réflexions sur Heidegger et Lévinas
    Klun, Branko
"Event" can be considered as a key concept of postmodern thought, as it comprises a radical rupture within the metaphysical understanding of being as presence and subsistence. After consulting ... Dilthey, we can search for the roots of this thought in the biblical tradition, which in turn leeds to the question of the influence of this tradition on Heidegger, and on the manner in which he envisioned this "event" (Ereignis). While Heidegger is inspired by the biblical conception of time, he, at the same time conceals its influence and does not take into account its most profound presuppositions. Though agreeing with Heidegger's criticism of metaphysics, Levinas is, however, opposed to the subsequent paganization of "event" and seeks to replace the later into the biblical context of the personal and ethical thought.
