Virtual warehouse simulation in Industry 4.0 scenariosHren, Gorazd ; Predin, Andrej, 1961-Logistics application can greatly benefit from Virtual Reality environments. In the context of Industry 4.0 and warehouse management, virtual warehouses are intuitive way to show and predict ... processes and activities in warehouse. To understand the dynamic behaviour of the systems and verify implemented designs or processes in particular time frame the use of simulation studies are necessary. This paper describes the use of 3D animation to visualise workflows in warehouse using standardised techniques within Web browsers. X3D node concept, object-oriented features and event driven approach suits well to virtual environment. An XML is used as interface definition of nodes and their behaviour characteristics parameters. Automated nodes and code generation of a dynamic XML Schema simplify the implementation. The study of a specific application enables us to highlight the possibilities of the X3D language to model, visualise and to do interactive parameters changing for actions in the warehouse. In this work we present integration approach of virtual environments and logistic applications through Industry 4.0 paradigms to develop virtualisation and 3D simulations into the next quality level.Source: MHCL 2017 (Str. 219-244)Type of material - conference contributionPublish date - 2017Language - englishCOBISS.SI-ID - 1024298332
