In this paper, we introduce the use of captions for deaf sign language users. There is a misconception, that all deaf users are written-language literate. Unfortunately, most of the deaf sign ...language users show a low reading level. Thus, accessibility needs to be assured by using a sign language video, combined with captions. The paper presents the misconceptions, because of which a different conception of assistive technologies for deaf sign language users and the way of presenting the captions is needed. In the end, it provides implementation of the transparent sign language video with captions as a possible solution for the improvement of the reading level for deaf sign language users.
