Analysis of Slovenian energy development scenarios on the bases of the GEMIS model

Rational design and optimisation of power systems will become increasingly important in the future due to the anticipated power crisis and the negative effects of fosil fuels on the environment. ...Programs such as GEMIS, SESAM, WASP and the design of power systems according to different scenarios. When collection data needed for calculating a specific scenario in a program, we always encounter difficulties about how to obtain data of sufficient quality. This paper presents the GEMIS program and our experience in data collection, and points to the possibilities offered by such a program when linked to GIS programs. We also made some analysis of Slovenian energy development scenarios based on the GEMIS model.
