  • The influence of the surface treatment of the thread on dynamic load of the thread
Rudolf, Andreja, 1969- ; Geršak, Jelka
The smoothesess of the thread enables the thread to run smoothly over the guiding elements and working mechanisms of the sewing machine, without breaking effects and at minimal loading. The surface ... of a lubricated thread results in lower friction and related tensile force of the thread. This contribution presents the influence of the type of lubrication on the dynamic load in the sewimg process, which also influences the alteration of the viscoelastic behaviour of sewing threads, resp. their deformation. Measurements of the dynamic load, respectively tensile force of the apparatus and hot galett lubrication PES core thread at three different stiching speeds as well as changes of the mechanical properties of the thread were carried out. Results show that the apparatus lubrication thread has a lower friction coefficient than the other one, which is reflected through lower tensile force of the apparatus lubrication thread. On the other hand, the hot galett lubrication thread has higher breaking tension , yield tension, modulus and higher breaking extension.
