Se presenta el marcado dimorfismo sexual de Heliura fenestrifer (Zerny), revelado mediante el código de barras de ADN. Se redescribe el macho, y se describe por primera vez la hembra. Se dan a conocer los caracteres de los genitales de ambos sexos. Se discute la existencia de un espécimen rotulado como lectotipo de Heliura seitzi (Draudt), depositado en el Museo de Historia Natural de París y que corresponde a una hembra de H. fenestrifer.
