Manganese(II) and cobalt(III) complexes Mn(HL)Cl 2 ( 1 ) and Co(L) 2 Cl ( 2 ) with 2-amino- N '-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)benzhydrazide (HL) were synthesized. Complexes 1 and 2 contain a neutral acylhydrazone molecule ( 1 ) or two acylhydrazones in the anionic form ( 2 ) in the coordination sphere of the metal centers. In vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities of acylhydrazone HL and coordination compound 2 were assessed.
