    "Standing on the ground here, we might see smoke rising. It may be a half mile away, but we can't really pinpoint an exact location. The problem is multiplied if that smoke is rising from somewhere within the tornado swath because there's a good chance we can't even get to it," he said. Mr. Todd M. Smola said, "You've got hundreds and hundreds of acres of trees on the ground, fire roads that are completely blocked or don't exist. How do you get to the source of the fire? Beyond that, it's not like the state forest exists in a vacuum. There are surrounding communities that very quickly could be put in the path of danger," he said. "We're pooling resources, coming up with lists, getting all the appropriate agencies to the table, because this isn't just about Monson. What we're looking at is a regional approach pertinent to all those communities that were in the path of the tornado," he said.
