    Journal Article

The word atychiphobia means "the irrational fear of failure." It comes from the Greek word atyches , meaning "unfortunate," and the more popular word phóbos , meaning "fear." The key indicator of this serious ailment is the irrational part. For those individuals unfortunate enough to experience it, atychiphobia can lead to restricted lives within a narrow comfort zone, making them unwilling to move on or attempt new things.
