Most introductory physics courses rarely mention Newton's bucket experiment, missing the opportunity to discuss the very foundations of Newtonian mechanics. This paper presents a simple demonstration that simulates Mach's principle. It allows students to observe the concave shape of the water both from a stationary frame in the classroom and from a reference frame that spins with the bucket
