    Highlights • Out of 1070 children given a booster dose, 103 failed to generate anamnestic response. • 91/103 children received 2nd vaccination series of HBV vaccine. • About 92% of them developed protective immune response (anti HBs ≥ 10 IU). • Vaccination failure was only among children ≥10 years with post-booster undetectable anti-HBs. • High risk children non-responders to a booster dose need HBV revaccination.
