  • The use of Dirac and Heavisidae functions in the determination of internal forces

    In order to determine internal forces in the straight beam element, the equilibrium equations need to be integrated separately for several intervals along the beam. If the load is expressed in terms ... of Heaviside and Dirac functions the equilibrium equations can be integrated by a single integration along the whole length of the beam. The relationship between the Heaviside and the Dirac function is given in terms of distributional derivative. The use of above mentioned functions in internal forces determination is explained by an example of simply supported beam
