  • Otroci in vpliv vizualnih medijev = Children and the influence of the visual media

    Nowadays children are more and more exposed to the media influences. Changes in the family's life and the process of upbringing offer to the media a decisive role in the child's emotions, behavior ... and personality formation. Beside certain positive impacts the exposure to the media has several harmful influences on the child's development as well. Children with dysfunctional development and those who are emotionally and educationally deprived are most susceptible to these harmful influences. Most of the research is focused on the impact of the media on obesity, sedentary life style and sleep disorders as well as on the influence of the media messages concerning the value system,interpersonal relations, sexuality and violence. Parents and professionals should be more active in the prevention of the harmful effects of the media.
