    In the today's world of globalization and competition a high level of equipment reliability nad as low costs of life-cycle as possible are essential preconditions for business successfulness of a ... company. The improvement of inherent reliability increases the costs of purchasing, but also reduces the costs of plant utilization. A systematic asset management and reduction of costs in a life-cycle are increasingly important activities. Investments in reliability increase should be studied in details, so that the overrun of the optimum, over which life-cycle costs start to increase, could be avoided. In accordance with the above concept, the integration of different methods for condition control in the frame of general strategy of caring for assets should be studied in details, planned and gradually introduced.
