  • Rapid methods in determination of foodborne pathogens

    The need for rapid microbiological methods is strongly recognised in the fieldof food industry and environment. This is the tool to confirm the presence of pathogen microorganisms in raw materials, ... semiproducts, finished products and environment in the preventive sense and ensures the food safety. They deal with the isolation, early detection, characterisation and enumeration of microorganisms and their products (metabolites) by use of microbiological, chemical, biochemical, molecular biology, immunological and serological methods. Rapid microbiological methods must be scientifically based, thoroughly tested and if necessary, validated before use.
