    In Slovenia, the simple two-point ZP method was chosen for carcass evaluation in swine. In order to fit the equation for the method, 120 gilts and barrows were randomly chosen among the most ... frequently used genotypes of slaughtered pigs and dissected. Equation DM5, which included the tiniest thickness of fat and skin above M. glutaeus medius, the shortest distance between cranial point of M. glutaeus medius and dorsal spinal edge, and warm carcass weight as cova?ates, fulfilled criteria for standard error (2.43) and determination coefficient (0.772). Estimated lean meat percentage was biased at extreme values for lean meat percentage measured, fat thickness, and warm carcass weight. Pigs with 50 % of Pietrain genes were underestimated while 50 % Duroc pigs were overestimated. The DM5 estimates were less biased than others.
