  • Diagnostic assessment of arterial circulatory disturbances as a basis for therapeutic decisions in critical limb ischaemia
    Poredoš, Pavel
For the choice of treatment of peripheral arterial disease diagnostic decision, diagnostic investigations are needed to objectively confirm the diagnosis and to localize the arterial lesions and in ... cases where a revascularization intervention is needed, these techniques help in choosing the reopening procedures. Preoperative investigations are also needed for determination of operative risk. Some noninvasive tests for investigation of the macro- and microcirculation such as ankle pressure measurement and TcPO2 measurement reveal the severity of the disease and have some predictive value for the success of treatment procedures. Patients with critical limb ischaemia(CLI) should be treated by reopening procedures and the success of recanalization depends of the outflow arteries. Therefore, investigation of these patients should also be oriented to the access the patency of outflow arteries.
