    This paper presents high-level technological blue print of information system for support of HCV RNA testing of donated blood with PCR (Polimease Chain Reaction) method in pools. The method is highly ... selective, but also highly demanding testing method. Therefore information system (IS) is needed to shiedlaboratory staff from errors caused by fatigue due to high volume of blood samples, or the technological complexity of the pooling and testing. TheIS integrates together interfaces for data exchange with legacy IS and interfaces with laboratory machines. The data exchange between transfusion centers and PCR testing site is carried out over private WAN. All operations are logged. The detailed trace is available for any system entity (i.e. shipment, blood sample or pool). The lifecycle of all entities is known and DFA of allowed transitions exists. Sytem prohibits invalid transitions. The software is in production for one year and no serious errors or design flaws have been discovered.
