  • Integration of Renewable energy sources and Forecast of development of electricity consumption in the Slovenian transmission network till 2050 [Elektronski vir]
    Stritih, Uroš ...
One of the main goals of energy policy in the European Union is to gradually increase the use of renewable energy sources (RES) and also to improve energy efficiency. The main reason for this is the ... need for reduction of energy use and CO2 emissions and also the decrease of the dependence on fossil fuels. By 2050 the share of greenhouse gas emissions in the EU should decrease by at least 80% compared to 1990 that is a political goal % the objective reality is however debatable. Slovenia should achieve at least a 25% share of RES in final energy balance by 2020 and at least a 39.3% share in electricity production. Energy efficiency by 2020 should be improved by at least 20% compared to 2014. The purpose of this paper is to present a scenario-based assessment for the development of the energy consumption of all types of energy, with focus on electricity by 2050. The objective is to determine the need for electricity in transmission network and the load of transmission system for domestic consumption. The scenarios are based on established methodology for the determination of needs developed at the Electric power research institute Milan Vidmar (EIMV). Directives of ENTSO-E were also followed.
