  • Global communication
    Pšunder, Majda ; Pšunder, Mirko
This article consists of six chapters. The introduction is followed by some general ideas about communication defining verbal and non-verbal communication with an emphasis on interpersonal and ... intrapersonal communication. It logically continues into a definition of non-verbal communication, based on chronological development. Functions and types of non-verbal communication are also addressed. The study poses questions that are implicit hypotheses. The research sample consists of professional speakers. The data were collected through questionnaires and are shown in tables as both absolute and percentage frequencies. Arithmetical means were calculated in the cases of the five-degree numerical evaluation and three-degree descriptive evaluation scales. In order to establish the (in)dependent nature of the relationships we used the x2 test. The results and the interpretation made clearer the concept of non-verbal communication, its use, its purpose and the level of non-verbal competence of the sample. It can be concluded that non-verbal communication is gaining in importance and that, whenever verbal and nonverbal messages are coordinated, this represents global communication.
