  • Jetrne metastaze nekolorektalnega raka = Noncolorectal liver metastases
    Omejc, Mirko
Liver is a common site of metastases for many malignancies including: colon, lung, pancreas, stomach, breast, melanoma, sarcoma. Gastrointestinal malignancies are especially prone to spread to the ... liver because of the directflow through the portal venous system, while non-GI tumours often spreadvia the hematogenous route due to its rich blood supply. Liver metastases were once thought to render a patient incurable; however, they may be readily treated by surgery, tumour ablation, chemotherapy, radiation or a combination of these techniques depending on the type, location, and size of tumour.
