  • Determination of bismuth in blood serum using differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry
Puntar-Brzin, Mojca ; Veber, Marjan, kemik ; Gomišček, Sergej
The application of the differential pulse anodic stripping voltametry (d.p.a.s.v.) for the determination of bismuth in blood serum was studied. The relative standard deviation of the procedure is ... 8-15% and the limit of determination ▫$0.5 ng mL^{-1}. The main difficulty is caused by copper, which is present in relatively high concentrations in blood serum and its peak potentials are very close to those of bismuth in most electrolytes. This difficulty was overcome by using a suitable supporting electrolyte and carefully control of the electrolysis potential, i.e. 0.1 mol L^{-1}HCl and -0.20 V vs. SCE, respectively.$▫
