    The Moste HPP was constructed in 1952 as the first plant in the chain of HPPʹs on the Sava river. Moste reservoir is formed on the Sava river by the highest dam in Slovenia totalling 60 m. The ... overall volume of the reservoir totals 7hm▫$^3 at a minimum operating level of 6.5 m (at El. 518.25 m). The live storage reservoir amounts to 3.24 hm^3 at a minimum operating level of 6.5 m (at El. 518.25 m). The Moste HPP has been planned as a storage reservoir for the production of peak energy with the available volume being sufficient to enable the levelling of weekly discharge. The Moste reservoir is located on the brinks of a glacial valley at the upper stream of the Sava river. At the hinterland of the storage reservoir, the town of Jesenice is situated with its industry (ironworks) and fairly strong public utility infrastructure gravitating into the influential intake area (Fig. 1). The dam built on the Sava river negatively affects the environment.$▫
