  • Testing of masonry infilled frame reduced scale building models

    Shaking table tests carried out at the University of Bristol provided insight into the bahaviour of masonry infilled reinforced concrete frames. Two models of simple buildings were constructed in 1:4 ... reduced scale according to modelling demands of true replica modelling techniques. Models were excited by a series of horizontal dwel motions with gradually increasing amplitude. Frequencies of dwells were set before each test run to be about 10 % lower than the first natural frequencies of the models to encounter resonance during test runs. The behaviour of models during test runs was similar to expected behaviour of fullscale models. The obtained data will be used in future in development of mathematical models for simulations of in-plane and out-of-plane response of infilled frames.
