  • Atipična pljučnica s težkim dihalnim sindromom = SARS - new pandemic disease

    In February 2003 a new epidemic disease SARS occured among people in the Guangdong province in China (situation : 300 probably cases, 15 deaths). The disease overgrew in March 2003 in great pandemic ... disease . In 30 countries over the World we had 5050 probable cases, 385 deaths - situation on 28/4-03. Deaths have occured in otherwise young healty individuals. The main presentingfeatures were fever, mialgies, headakes and nonproductive cough...commonly associated with other upper cold viroses. Till the end of July/03 we had about 8.600 probable cases and 780 deaths. In March/03 investigated this new disease expert goups from WHO, CDC and DHHS. They identified infectious agens, it was coronavirus, perhaps FCv=felin corona virus, which is present in autohton cat-population . These cats are in Asia local special-delicatese. The people have been infected in contact with row cat-meat and dirty hands. In 4 months infected and ill travellers have transfered this new infection of corona virus - (named on simptoms as SARS) all over the World.
