    Continous digitalization of the video camera's images and the processing of the entire frame within 40 ms enables complex calculation of the security functions to be performed in real time. The ... question of how it is possible to detect the presence of new moving objects with the use of a fuzzy pattern comparator is discussed. We outline the time filter required to perform moving detection. The processing of the above functions is devided into two parts: those processed by the host processor and the others performed by the fuzzy pattern comparator. This work shows that real-time monitoring functions are possible with general purpose and additional multimedia hardware. The performances of the system are shown through examples
