    We present a girl with membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis type I. Membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis is a rare but important cause of end-stage renal disease in children. ... Membranoproliferative glomerulonephciris can present as acute nephritic and nephrotic syndrome or as asymptomatic haematuria and proteinuria. The diagnosis is based on renal biopsy. Different treatment regimens for membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis have been described in the literature. In our case, treatment with corticosteroids was suceessful, resulting in almost complete remission. However, we cannot predictthe final outcome of the disease after a treatment period of 140 days.
