  • Utjecaj Clomida na nivo endogenih gonadotropina i testosterona u infertilnih muškaraca = The influence of Clomid upon endogene levels of gonadotrophins and testosteron in infertile men

    We treated eleven cases of idiopathic oligoospermia and astenozoospermia with Clomid at a dose 25 mg per patient per day over a period of 25 days. After a break of 5 days the treatment was continued ... according to the same schedule for a duration of at least 1 month to 7 months at the most. The object of the treatment was to evaluate the effect of Clomid upon any changes in the ejaculate as well as influence of this drug upon endogene production of gonatropine and testosteron. A considerable increase of the gonadotropic hormones FSH and LH in the serum occured as early as the first month of the therapy (p<0,05). The quantity of testosterone in the serum fell radically during the first month of the therapy (p<0,05), while 2 months after the commencement of the treatment, it increased above the values prior to the therapy; the increase, however, is statistically insignificant. Improvement in the ejaculate was achieved in 45% of the patients.
