    Standard Lippes loops "D" were given to 239 women immediately following menstrual regulation at the Gynaecological Department of the General Hospital in Maribor. The women in the study had a mean age ... of 30.4 years. The mean number of live births was 1.7. Out of women surveyed, 24.7 % had had one and 6 % two previously induced abortions. No complications or complaints were reported on insertion. All 239 patients returned for one or more follow-up visits with only 191 (97.9 %) coming after 12-months. In this of about 2397 cycles the rate of expulsion-displacement was 5.4 and removals for bleeding and pain 8.0. There were two cases of PID.
