  • The subject in a manufacturing system operating with uncertain information

    Research into a new paradigm in manufacturing is focused into a work system representing an elementary cell of a factory. Both the cybernetic, as well as the information model represent the basis for ... this study. The newly introduced information model has been analysed and some information measures, the entropy rates and the transmission rates introduced. It is argued that the complexity of determining their quantitative values does not allow that the Subject use these tools for operating and controlling the work systems. For this reason it is suggested to change the engineering education and training methods in order to enable the subject to meet the challenge in the future.
