    Undesirable machine-tool vibrations may be avoided by previous machine testing and operating within the working range. The dynamic characterstics of a machine change with the running time of the ... machine and due to the interaction in the tool-workpiece-machine tool system, which substantially affects the product quality. On-line sensing and control of the dynamic behaviour of the machine tool is particularly important when high form and dimension accuracy are required. A possibility to control the dynamic characteristics of a machine-tool with neural networks is presented by a concrete example of finishing and precision cutting of cold formed specimens in the Near-Net-Shape technology with cermet tool material.
