  • Informacijski sistemi za podporo logistike v bolnišnicah [Elektronski vir]
    Kragelj, Dušan, 1960-
Foreign research shows that 35 to 45% of all hospital coSts are logistic related [1]. With logistic processes optimization we can decrease the whole costs of hospitals and achieve efficient public ... health service, comparable with foreign systems. Nurses use 39 to 58% of their work time for logistic and administrative tasks. Improving the logistics the work of nurses could be redirected towards their main task - patients care, with which we could achieve higher satisfaction of patients and higher productivity of employees what has an effect on the whole health care system functionality. Health care services must be performed better than with other providers, with lower costs, with better medical outcome and with higher patients satisfaction rate. All mentioned facts apply directly to all hospitals in this country since so far nobody has systematically taken into consideration the logistic processes in hospitals even though a big portion of costs is related to it. Each hospital tries within its own spectre of ideas to rationalize processes. Firstly we must study processes within hospitals in relations with the environment, perform benchmark analysis with other countries, get to know new technologies regarding logistics in hospitals, perform SWOT analysis and cost benefit analysis. We must take into consideration all included in the health care system from primary to tertiary and from patients, insurance companies to the Ministry. Only this way logistic systems can be effective.
