  • Social tourism - new opportunities for all

    This paper focuses on concept of tourism called social tourism and its impacts. It describes the systems of social tourism that enables certain underprivileged segments of population (young people, ... pensioners, families and disabled) participation in tourism and other leisure activities. In these segments, the tourism abstinence is often presented, which reduces the social tourism participation. The main purpose of this article is to explain concept of social tourism and further to show positive effects of social tourism from economic (deseasonalisation, new jobs, profit etc.) as well as social view (health, higher quality of life). At the end article addresses good practices of social tourism in Europe to confirm positive effects discussed before. Those good practices are European project of social tourism Calypso and French social tourism programme ANCV.
