  • Studies on wastewater decolorization by the precipitation/flocculation process
    Koprivanac, Natalija ...
Strongly colored wastewaters can heavily pollute natural waters if not suitably treated. Because of their aromatic structure, chemical substances contained in these wastewaters are not biologically ... degradable. On the other hand, treatments based on oxidation/reduction processes may generate new pollutants. Reactive dyes generally easily dissolve in water, which makes themmore difficult to eliminate. The development of new organic flocculants opens a way for investigating their effects in the precipitation/flocculation processes of colorants in water solutions. In this paper the employment of organic cation flocculants in the decolorization processes of various reactivedyes solutions is described. The effects of flocculant quantity, pH, and temperature are discussed.
