  • The computer analysis of gathered deformations of structures at the transport of steamer to the nuclear power station Krsko in Slovenia

    In Slovenia, in August 1999, a transport of extraordinary weight was put through. A steam generator of cca 600 t was transported from Port Koper to the nuclear power plant in Krško. The transport ... passed over twenty viaducts and other bridge structures which had to be checked. To this end, measurements of vertical displacements and specific deformations in bridge constructions were performed using geodetical methods which give displacements and deformations in the absolute system, independent of changes on measured constructions. All other methods are more or less relative. The results of relative methods are usually more exact than the geopdetical ones, but a combination of both methods provides a 3D picture of displacements and deformations in a determined time interval, which assures a high accuracy of displacement determination.
