    This master's thesis describes the work of interpreters in an unconventional medical setting in Slovenia, namely the work of interpreters at the Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Ljubljana, ... Slovenia. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the basic characteristics of the occupation are described and the level of its professionalization is established. Furthermore, various theories on the ethics of translators and interpreters are presented, and ethical principles relating to healthcare interpreting are listed and discussed. The empirical part presents the case study and interviews with the interpreters, as well as findings. It was determined that the employees of the centre could not be described as healthcare interpreters, but rather as assistants who predominantly interpret and have other work tasks that normally fall within the scope of the tasks of nurses and administrative assistants, which also impacts ethical principles.
