  • The effects of EU business cycles on the economic activity in Slovenia and Croatia [Elektronski vir] : Session VIB : European Union

    This paper studies patterns in the Slovene and Croatian economy with multivariate spectral analysis. It examines if the transition in Slovenia and Croatia was marked by a significant movement of ... aggregate economic activity, which corresponds to the definition of business cycle proposed by Mitchell and Burns and if the cycles are synchronized with the cycles of Germany as proxy for EU business cycles. The result of the analysis are mixed. For Slovenia, we find very close synchronization with German cycle. The result for Croatia however suggest, that there is no typical German component in its business cycle.
