  • Metrological backgrounds for automation of gauge block calibration process

    Automated calibration procedure ensures better calibration conditions because the human factor is excluded. Such calibration is also more effective and therefore cheaper. However, involved ... positioning and manipulation systems can spoil environmental conditions because they are source of heating and vibrations. Therefore many metrological backgrounds shall be studied carefully before automation process can be performed . This article presents basic metrological studies for automating gauge block calibration process, which have been done in the Laboratory for production measurement in Maribor. The most important parameter for these studies is uncertainty of measurements, which is studied with respect to the main influence factors.
