  • Simulation model of automated storage for high storage racks

    Automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) have given industry the advantages of faster storage and retrieval of products, efficient use of storage space, high reliability and better inventory ... control, improved safety and reduced product damage. Heuristics travel time models for AS/AR with equally sized cells in height under randomised storage with one, two and three unit loads at the time are presented in this paper. The main contribution of the proposed model is the implementation of the x-strategy and the determination of optimal values between throughput capacity and average travel time for five different storage racks and two velocity profiles.
