  • Zadržanje zaposlitve po zaključku programa Nova pot = Job retention after inclusion in "The New Way" programme
    Švajger, Andreja, 1961-
The article presents the probability of job retention after participating in a vocational rehabilitation programme called "The New Way". The programme has been provided since 1998 to unemployed ... disabled clients by the Ljubljana department of the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre at the Institute for Rehabilitation. The programme is comprised of vocational training, psychosocial rehabilitation and support at securing and retaining employment. Since its beginning until the middle of 2006, 107 disabled persons took part in the programme. The analysis of the project phase showed that 27% of participants got employment which was close to 30% of employment efficiency among overall unemployment population. With the purpose of following up and exploring the factors that lead to long-term efficiency, The New Way programme was analysed in terms of job retention. For the whole group, demographic data, information on the programme duration, outcome and employers were analysed. For 63 persons who concluded the programme until the middle of 2004 job retention rate was explored. The results showed that The New Way programme brought long-term effects. After 6 months, 22.2% of the persons were employed. The rate increased to 30.1% at 12 months after completion and stabilised at 28.6% after 24 months. Factors that contributed to the outcome included interdisciplinary approach, comprehensiveness of the treatment and intensive long-term contacts with employers and employees.
