  • The analysis of the centrifugal atomisation of high carbon steel shot

    In this paper the process and the problems of melt disintegration by centrifugal atomisation is presented. The company Abrasiv Muta uses it for the production of the coarse-grained high carbon east ... steel shot. With this technique the melt is sprayed into line droplets by centrifugal force and solidified into granulate. The aim of our work was to find the technological parameters of the industrial appliance, which influence on the melt disintegration mechanism. With the step study and the directly analysis of the process the parameters, which influenced on the requested size distribution (4-8 mm) and roundness of granulate, are determined.
