    In order to produce a fast and easy-to-control racer it is essential to optimize all the vehicle parts. The chassis of a racer must be as stiff and as light as possible. It also has to withstand all ... the loads resulting from acceleration, beaking and cornering.The FS-03 racer was designed using the Mechanical Desktop software package. An optimization software called SHape Designer (or SHAD) will be used for FEA and numerical optimization of chassis shape and cross-sectional dimensions of chassis tubes which will be assigned as project variables. Our goal is to lower chassis weight as much as possible and to preserve its relatively high torsional stiffnes.
